Santa would like to thank everyone who submitted an idea for the theme for this year’s Santa Claus Parade in Downtown Collingwood. A total of 25 entries were received and it was a difficult choice to select just one.
The winning theme is ‘What Christmas Means to Me’, submitted by Miranda Mueller who has won a Gift Basket valued at more than $250. Thanks to all the Downtown Collingwood businesses who helped fill the basket – Ed Christie’s, Haven, Bent Taco, Cabin Bistro, Homme Femme, U Pick Parties, 1858 Caesar Bar, Tesoro Mercato, Creemore Coffee Studio and Collingwood Olive Oil.
Downtown Collingwood is once again pleased to present Collingwood’s Annual Santa Claus Parade. As in previous years, the parade will be held in the early evening to capture all the magic of our downtown holiday lights. Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 17, beginning at 5 p.m., and plan to join the fun! This year’s parade will be part of a very special day in Downtown Collingwood as we officially launch the holiday. Enjoy the many merchant Open Houses … visit with Santa’s Reindeer in Training …. enjoy carolers on the street….put on your running shoes for the HOHOHoliday Run…and there is lots more, including the traditional “lighting” of the town Christmas Tree, followed by a dazzling display of fireworks!
Now is the time to register your float with the committee. There is no entry fee for community groups and non-profit organizations. The commercial entry fee is just $50.00.
Another great way to get involved in the parade is through your financial support. We want to make this year’s edition of the Santa Claus Parade bigger and better than ever. We encourage every business to consider becoming involved… it’s a great way to promote your business as you assist in staging this important community tradition.
Complete details about the Santa Claus Parade are now available on the Collingwood Downtown website, at www.collingwooddowntown.com, or you may call 445 5595 for further information.
