An Exciting line up of Events and Activities this Spring and Summer in Collingwood’s Historic Downtown

The historic streets of Downtown Collingwood come alive as the warm weather arrives.. The downtown core can become bustling with people attending the variety of fun filled events the town has to offer.

Theatre Collingwood has an amazing line up of plays this season. These include Sexy Laundry, Barefoot in the Park, and Over the Rainbow: The Harold Arlen Story. You can find the full line up on their website: theatrecollingwood.ca

Stop by the Collingwood Downtown Farmers’ Market for a variety of fresh and local products. Saturdays from Victoria Day to Thanksgiving, the parking lot on Second and Pine Street is filled with local vendors featuring a wide range of organic vegetables and fruit, delicious and fresh baked goods, meats and cheeses, flowers and trees, jams and preserves, hand crafted items and more.

The streets of the downtown also become an outdoor art exhibit with the work of more than 50 area artists. A diverse range of artists showcase their talents through street banners and Muskoka chairs. Stroll through the downtown core from May through to October, to see their unique work. You can sit in a one-of-a-kind hand painted Muskoka chair and enjoy the beauty of the historic downtown.

Enjoy great, local, live music every Wednesday from June 28th to August 30th. Local Live Lunch features a different downtown restaurant and artist or band each week. Starting at Noon at Sheffer Court, you can find the very best of local food  and enjoy exceptional live music.

You can find more live music Wednesday evenings at The Station. Some of Canada’s finest Blues and Jazz musicians perform in a beautiful park setting. While, there is no charge for this amazing entertainment, donations are welcome.

What is a better way to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday than with the annual Collingwood Festival for Canada? Join Collingwood in ringing in Canada’s 150th year as a nation.  There will be music, food, fun, pancake breakfast, gigantic birthday cake and fireworks! Enjoy the full line up of activities for the whole family, including strolling entertainment, live music and on-the-water events,

Presented from July 28th to 30th the Collingwood Elvis Festival is an internationally recognized event, and is a must see for Elvis fans and fans of summer music festivals. With more than100 tribute artists attending, this is sure to be an amazing year. Revisit this exciting era in music history with live concerts, competitions, vendors and much more!

Enjoy even more live entertainment when pianos line the streets during the Keys to Collingwood: Street Piano Festival. Starting August 5th you can enjoy street performances of all genres including jazz, blues, rock, classical and gospel. And, you are encouraged to play your own tune!  Don’t miss this amazing celebration of performance arts in the downtown core.

Join the Sidelaunch Days Harbour Front Festival, from August 12th to 13th to celebrate one of the many joys of living in and around Collingwood… the water! This is a two-day, multi-venue, family event celebrating the joy of being in, on and around the water. This event also honours the unique shipbuilding heritage of Collingwood.
