Theatre Collingwood is delighted to be opening the company’s 2017 Summer Theatre Festival with another play from their friends at Theatre Orangeville!
After twenty-five years of marriage, the emergence of love handles and receding hairlines, Alice and Henry have hit a physical plateau. With a “Sex for Dummies” guidebook in hand, Alice convinces Henry into a weekend of alone time in a swanky hotel in the hopes of seducing him and unearthing her inner vixen! Henry, however, wants to keep things the way they are – comfortable and easy. What ensues in this adult comedy is absolute hilarity as the two discover themselves and their marriage all over again.
The gorgeous set and the delightful direction by David Nairn makes Sexy Laundry a sure winner! “This is a really fun piece of work that will have our audiences snickering in their seats, if not laughing uproariously at Terry Barna’s and Debbie Collins’ impeccable comedic timing”, said Executive Director Erica Angus. “Although the play is an “adult” play, it is not intended to make anyone feel uncomfortable, but rather to look at the human condition especially after 25 years of marriage.” Theatre Collingwood audiences will recognise Debbie Collins from I Love You, Your’re Perfect, Now Change. Terry Barna was also here is Baco Noir. These two seasoned performers have terrific chemistry together and are also so easy to relate to. Sexy Laundry is very popular and a hit whenever it is performed, and we are certain this will be the case for this production too!
