The Environmental Engineering Scientific Management Consulting company Jacques Whitford has opened a Downtown Collingwood office. The company was founded in Eastern Canada in 1972 by Hector J. Jacques and Michael S. Whitford. There are now hundreds of employee-owners and more than 1,600 employees working in offices throughout Canada, including Stephen Beszterczey's new Downtown Collingwood office.
Jacques Whitford began with a philosophy to hire the absolute best and brightest people - to be thought of as the employer of choice among top graduates of engineering and science programs. Jacques Whitford has always sought the most challenging projects, those that test the boundaries of their technical creativity, innovation or performance under pressure. The Jacques Whitford web site states that the company has consistently pursued business growth. "If you hire the best minds, you can't expect them to stay around unless you grow. Bright people want opportunity, and if you let them expand the company, if you support them and don't create a lot of bureaucracy, they do it and growth happens organically." says firm co-founder Hector J. Jacques.
Stephen Beszterczey moved to Collingwood from the firm's Barrie office. Beszterczey says his affiliation with the Town of Collingwood began with a road reconstruction contract and his business has grown from that point forward. "Our Collingwood location is of benefit to us but also benefits the Town and our local clients. People are happy with our work" says Beszterczey. Beszterczey graduated from Fleming College prior to joining Jacques Whitford. He enjoys living in Collingwood because of the four season lifestyle and his enjoyment of fishing and skiing.
