Celebrating Our Heritage
In Downtown Collingwood
DOORS OPEN COLLINGWOOD 2008


For one weekend only, Collingwood opened its doors to some of its finest heritage, cultural and natural sites. Visitors explored the first downtown district in Canada to be recognized as an "Historic Place,"  enjoying a weekend filled with entertainment, special activities and history. Events included the Downtown Collingwood Farmers' Market, free horse drawn wagon rides through the downtown streets, historic homes walking tours, dancing demonstrations courtesy of the Fleetwood Dance Centre, the Bell Telephone Display, Summerbound Harbour Tours and of course, great food and refreshments served at the many downtown Collingwood restaurants, coffee shops and outdoor patios.

Collingwood's downtown was designated a Heritage Conservation District in 2003. This year, the town of Collingwood is celebrating its 150th anniversary.
